Great Selection and Even Better Service

Great selection and even better service.  I did not expect to find such an eclectic mix of frames – many of which I had great interest in.  My experience was made, however, by Wick.  He has tremendous knowledge, expertise, and taste, and he had me fitted with the BEST frames in a matter of minutes.  I highly recommend a trip to the store!

Rolls Royce Service for Lifetime

My name is Rani Urabi Mustafa. I was born, raised and currently live in Raleigh. Last year, I purchased a pair of Mykita eyeglasses from The Spectacle at North Hills. My experience with the shop since that day is my reason for writing.  The service that I've received since my purchase has been nothing less than spectacular. A few weeks after picking up my eyeglasses, My prescription changed. I brought in my glasses and the shop changed out my lenses at zero cost! They actually refused to take one dime; then, last weekend a house guest accidentally sat on my eyeglasses repeatedly. Tough and flexible as they are, they mirrored a pretzel. I immediately drove to the shop thinking-hoping that maybe only half the parts would need to be ordered & replaced. The owner of the shop, Wick, calmly sat me down and went to work completely disassembling my specs & bending & shaping each piece back into their original shapes. Wow in itself!!  He then re-adjusted them to fit perfectly. I was stunned; & I mean stunned! Then on top of everything, no matter how hard I wrestled & argued with him, he refused to take a single penny!! The glasses were not cheap to buy, but the investment turned out to be much more than just the specs, rather it seems, lifetime Rolls Royce service. The money I spent at The Spectacle is the best I've ever spent & would stake my name behind the integrity of that shop to anyone!

Takes the pain out of progressives

My husband and I both had a great experience with Wick.  I was very nervous about getting progressives.  I essentially have one eye that can see far and another that can see near, and I was tired of switching between two glasses, so I decided to take the plunge.  I got my progressives today and am already getting used to them.  Wick showed me how to look at things when wearing the glasses and it was very easy to catch on. I had heard stories of people who hated their progressive glasses, but I am already a fan of mine.  I also look great.  He has a fantastic eye for putting the right shape on you, and he understands how far outside your comfort zone you are willing to go.  My husband got glasses from Wick last year and he has gone from looking like a stodgy lawyer to a stylish fellow!  He also has raved about the quality of the lenses and claims he now has “laser-sharp” vision.  Candidly, I had resisted going to Wick for a couple years because I was sensitive to his costs, but those were two years wasted with inferior glasses.  Don’t make the same mistake I did: go get your glasses from Wick today!

Never Had Glasses So Worth the Money

From now on, there is only one place that I will go to for glasses and lenses…  The Spectacle.  I told Wick that I wanted transitions lenses.  He immediately selected a pair of glasses that I initially thought were too “stylish” for me.  Gregor told me about the lenses that they used that could help my vision.  After some thought, I returned to their shop and tried on most of their glasses.  I was amazed that I selected the same pair that Wick initially selected for me.

I have had my glasses for a couple of months now and love them!  First, they look great…as regular glasses and as sunglasses.  Secondly, I CAN see better!  Not only are the lenses allowing better peripheral vision, they have improved my ability to drive at night!  After many visits to my ophthalmologist to see if night vision could be corrected and learning that it would just get worse, Gregor proved him wrong!

I have never had a pair of glasses so worth the money.. both to complement my features and for the improved vision!  Thank you Wick and Gregor!!!

These Guys Know Their Stuff

Like everyone else responding in "The Feedback Booth" I had a most satisfying experience dealing with Gregor and Wick.  I traveled to The Spectacle from Chapel Hill in order to check out the Super Focus concept eyeglasses.  Though intriguing, this type of lens did not work for me, and I was sure I would end up needing a pair of special lenses just for computer work.  Gregor assured me that the new digital progressives were far superior to my ten-year-old progressives, and I would not need a second prescription just for the computer.  He was absolutely right!  

Then, Gregor brought me into the 21st Century fashion-wise.  Since the '60s, I had been wedded to my wire-rims, but Gregor put some contemporary rimless frames on me and my wife loved them -- made me look as young as she is.  These guys know their stuff.

I Could Not Be Happier With My New Eyeglasses

 I went to The Spectacle at North Hills Mall expecting to simply fill a prescription for glasses, not knowing the delightful change that was in store for me. I am farsighted and was used to removing my glasses at night while driving, to avoid the glare from oncoming cars. When Wick Morgan, the owner of The Spectacle, told me I would no longer have to remove my glasses for nighttime driving, I was skeptical, but as it turned out, he was more than right! When the glasses were finished and I first put them on, I was astonished at how crystal clear everything looked. It was like not wearing glasses at all. Suddenly for the first time in years, I was seeing everything the way I used to see it, with no reflections or glare, and with perfect clarity, as if there were absolutely nothing between my eyes and the world. The difference is that these lenses are made digitally, and this advanced technology eliminates aberrations that occur in eyeglass lenses created with traditional eyeglass lens manufacturing tools and processes. I could not be happier with my new eyeglasses!

 I recently purchased my first pair of glasses from the Spectacle.  Since I've never worn glasses before, I had to get used to the progressive lenses and Wick and Gregor were very helpful with that process.  And they are both experts at selecting the frames that look best on you. I get compliments on the frames every day!

The Best Eyewear Shop

 The Spectacle is by far the best eyewear shop I have experienced in the 40 plus years I have been wearing eyeglasses.  Wick seems to know exactly the right style frame to suit any face and personality.  His first pick from their wide selection of high fashion frames was perfect.  Gregor made sure their new digital lenses were made precisely to suit my preferred field of vision.  The digital lenses provide the clearest vision and best bifocal progression I have experienced in the 15 years I have worn bifocals.  In effect I have a trifocal lense in the smallest lense I have ever worn, in both size and thickness.  The difference is truly amazing, and well worth the additional expense.  In short, I cannot say enough about the extraordinary products, customer service, and satisfying experience offered by Wick and Gregor at The Spectacle.

Digital Lenses Are Amazing

 The Spectacle is the only place to buy eyewear! Wick, the owner, is extremely knowledgable and a joy to work with. My husband, daughter and I have purchased prescription glasses from Wick and we are 100% satisfied. Wick is able to look at your face shape and pick out the right eyewear for you each and every time. His 'spectacles' are works of art. Wick also offers digital prescription lenses which are amazing...love them! They truly make a huge difference -the clarity is unbelievable! Definitely worth the money - your eyes are worth it!

Figuring Out Who the New Me Is

 I went to the Spectacle to get a new pair of glasses with my wife, and we were impressed by the selection of really well-designed and fashionable pieces.  When they were made and sent to me, I came to the conclusion that they were not only the best-feeling pair of glasses I ever had, they were also the best crafted pair of glasses I have ever had.  I am grateful for the upgrade in quality and service that I experienced with The Spectacle and though I am not looking forward to expense of getting new glasses again, I at least know where I am going to happily go, when that time arises
