Gregor Owen, the licensed optician for The Spectacle, has been in the optical business for more decades than he really cares to count. Not only has he been wearing glasses since the fourth grade, but he remembers how disturbing those early pairs were! Now associated with Wick Morgan, creator and founder of Raleigh’s beautifully designed luxury eyewear shop, The Spectacle of North Hills, he has finally found the perfect spot to offer the very best lens products, a fabulously diverse and intriguing collection of fashion forward eyewear, and a perfect environment for making sure every client that comes in gets the very best personal care. Wick and Gregor really love what they do, and since the first day the shop opened in April of 2008, they both have had a great time putting all of their energy into bringing fun and enthusiasm back into eyewear, and are making the Spectacle a great place to hang out and be pampered.
Gregor has consulted with and managed business solutions for Ophthalmology, Optometry, and large and small chain optical businesses. He has been a licensed optician in Florida and currently in North Carolina, and is a Fellow of the National Academy of Opticianry, Charter Certified Optician with the American Board of Opticianry, a Certified Contact Lens Fitter, and a member of the NC Opticians Association. He has written, lectured and taught optical technology and business solutions to a variety of eye care professionals. He has extensive training in the exciting new digital lens design technology and specializes in the enhanced vision of wrap compensated sport vision and sunwear. He has been a sailor for a long time and sails as crew for several North Carolina and Florida race boats, and also enjoys rock climbing, competitive fencing, and the occasional pickup soccer or basketball game. Whenever you visit The Spectacle you will quickly find that both Wick and Gregor really enjoy the process of creating the perfect eyewear for your every mood and every pleasure.
